#Bladder Problems - Both Bothersome And Embarrassing

 by  Neal Kennedy

Bladder problems are rarely serious medical threats (although bladder cancer is certainly an exception), but they are definitely bothersome and annoying because they are often socially embarrassing.
Bladder problems happen more often as we get older. But some bladder problems, like shy bladder and bedwetting, also happen to the young.

This article is intended to provide a general understanding of how the human bladder functions, and the most common bladder problems that afflict people everywhere - both young and old.

The human bladder is a sac-like structure near the bottom of the abdomen. Its major job is acting as a storage area for your urine.

The bladder has a waterproof skin which doctors call the transitional cell epithelium.|A waterproof tissue serves as a lining for the inside of the bladder. The medical name for this lining is the transitional cell epithelium.}

Urine is deposited into the bladder from the kidneys through tubes called ureters. It is eliminated through a tube leading outside the body called the urethra.

Most adult bladders will hold about 400 milliliters of urine.

As mentioned above, bladder problems become more common as people grow older. It can be tougher to control the bladder. This sometimes results in a condition known as incontinence. Incontinence can also happen when there is a medical problem or disease that affects the bladder. There are a number of bladder control products available on the market that help people who have incontinence or bladder control difficulties.

There are several kinds of bladder cancer. The the type that happens most often starts in the lining of the cells inside of the bladder. This variety is called urothelial cell carcinoma (UCC) or transitional cell carcinoma (TCC).

A bladder infection is a bacterial infection that's also known as a urinary tract infection or UTI. Although UTI can be very distressing, it's fairly very treatable with antibiotics and can be cured quickly if treated properly.
An overactive bladder is a condition that is caused by a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscle in the wall of your bladder. Overactive bladder causes an unexpected and unstoppable need to urinate. OA is also called urge incontinence and is a type of urinary incontinence or unintentional loss of urine.

Bladder Stones - Bladder stones are crystalline masses that originate from minerals and proteins which naturally occur in urine. They are considerably less common than kidney stones.

Bladder Spasms - A bladder spasm may also be called bladder instability. Normally bladder muscles are relaxed and only go to work when you urinate. But when the bladder is unstable, it sometimes contracts quickly and unexpectedly. This contraction is also referred to as a bladder spasm.

Bladder Prolapse - Also called cystoceles. It is more often called fallen bladder or prolapsed bladder. Fallen bladder happens in women when the front wall of the vagina, which holds up the bladder, weakens or grows loose. The bladder may then begin to slip into the vagina. There are four different stages, but the basic result can be urinary difficulties, discomfort, and stress incontinence (which is urine leakage caused by sneezing, coughing, exertion, or some other physical condition).

Enuresis (More commonly known as bedwetting) - Enuresis is, simply put, involuntary urination, usually during sleep. This condition is more common in children and almost always goes away as the child gets older. However, repeated enuresis can be a sign or symptom other physical or emotional problems.

Paruresis - This is a disorder that is also called shy bladder, shy kidney, or bashful bladder. Both women and men can suffer from paruresis, which is a type of social anxiety disorder in which the sufferer is unable to urinate when others are nearby, typically in a place like a public restroom.

Although there are a number of bladder problems may be more psychological than anatomical in naturePsychology Articles, it still makes sense to talk to your physician about them. He or she can recommend treatment options or prescribe products that will at least help you cope with these bladder problems if you have them.

Alternative #BladderCancer Treatment - Recommended Practices For a Healthy Life-style

By Priyadarshini Krishnasamy

A bladder is an organ located at the pelvic area, for storing urine. This organ is balloon-shaped. Bladder cancer occurs whenever malignant cancerous cells grow on the cells of this organ. Symptoms include occurrence of pain during the process of urination, blood in urine, irritation and frequent urination. This disease can be easily detected at early stages and can be cured completely. But patients are been advised to undergo regular screening tests even after treatments. Causes include the following:

  • Smoking rates number one position for cause of majority types of cancer. Studies show a linear relation between smoking and risk.
  • People working industries like metal, rubber, textile, dye and printing, automobiles, petroleum based companies are highly prone to this disease.
  • People who are in regular contact/use of hair dyes have nearly 3% chances of getting this cancer.
This cancer can be diagnosed using cystoscopy and pathologic analysis. Pathological classification studies indicate that 90% occurrences of bladder cancer are of transitional carcinoma type and the rest 10% may be of squamous cell carcinoma, sarcoma, adenocarcinoma and small cell carcinoma. Conventional treatments include the following:
  • Cystology using an electrocautery device
  • BCG Immunotherapy
  • Combination of Radiation and Chemotherapy is used to treat invasive disease types
The alternative bladder cancer treatment offers ways to prevent and cure cancer along with the usual medical practices. The following techniques listed below are proved to be more beneficial for cancer patients:
  • Quit smoking. It improves your life and health. Cigarette contains tobacco, which has high fungus content. This is a main causal factor for cancer, as these microbes eats glucose within the cell; it excretes a dangerous hormone called "mycotoxins", which is a characteristic of cancer producing cells. Glucose is intercepted cause of this, hence cell's mitochondrial function is abrupted due to lack of glucose.
  • Drinking more water eases the process of urination. This enables less carcinogen release in urine. The urine will be in a diluted form. Hence no pain or irritation is caused.
  • Maintain healthy diet by consuming fresh fruit juices, vitamins and special dietary substances.
  • Meditation
  • Acupuncture is an age-old Chinese treatment for curing cancer. In this technique sharp needles are used in the affected areas to alleviate the pain.

Complementary and alternative treatments work not only for curing bladder cancer, but for curing all cancers practically. But knowledge about types of cancer is of prime essence. The most important thing to know is that chemotherapy, radiation, drugs and surgery are not the only options. So get rid of your fears about cancer. If you want to find more information about alternative bladder cancer treatment and learn much more about curing cancer naturally.

Numerous #BladderCancer Symptoms You Most Likely Are Encountering

by Michael Archer

Bladder cancer is one of the most commonly seen disorders in connection with Type II Diabetes. The reason being Actos, a drug for diabetes, has been seen as among the frequent bladder cancer causes. Actos or pioglitazone is definitely an oral drug, which lately received a distribution prohibition from the FDA. In 1999, this prescription drug gained popularity as treatment for Type II Diabetes mellitus. It improved glycemic control, because the disease interferes with the natural production and use of insulin to control blood glucose. Scientific study has found a link between the medicine and lots of bladder cancer patients. Recent surveys show that the chance of developing bladder cancer is 40% higher if you regularly took the pill for more than 2 yrs.

Soon after a statement from the FDA, drugstores all over the US reportedly removed the medicine from their display units. Certain shops, however, still keep it in circulation. During the past year, the drug ranked 9th on top selling prescribed drugs in the country.

You may file for compensation claims if you think you or a family member has been informed they have bladder cancer on account of Actos. Coping with diabetes mellitus is enough difficulty both physically and financially. Adding a deadly problem due to carelessness of medical manufacturers is unacceptable. You possibly can approach personal injury lawyers if you're going to sue the maker of Actos. Acquiring compensation just for this damage will be helpful to pay for your medical charges. Make sure you receive representation from well-informed lawyers that have experience with patients suing the same company.

You're already a candidate just for this type of cancer malignancy if you've been taking the drug for a long period. Below are a few bladder cancer symptoms you may be going through.

Hematuria is among the principal bladder cancer symptoms you should never ignore. Once you see a dark staining in your urine due to blood, it's time to go right to the doctor. Pain or constant discomfort while peeing comes with this complication. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is another common side-effect. Other symptoms include pain in lower back, swollen lower legs, anemia, and weight loss. You can even notice a mass on the pelvic region.

There aren't any clear bladder cancer causes. Quite a few people may well connect it to smoking or other unhealthy addictions, but there are no proven studies. Researchers, nevertheless, are set on their findings that Actos is a high risk factor for such ailment. Actos is associated with a category of drugs called thiazolidinediones. Avandia, another drug belonging to the same category, is already out of the racks as well. Plenty of experts found its relationship with incidences of cardiac arrest.

Teaching yourself on numerous medications before taking them can help you in the end. Always be certain to inquire about second opinions from several medical doctors when you receive a prescription. It isn't that you don't trust your regular physician; several drugs bring unpleasant negative effects if used for long durations. Do not hesitate to ask health authorities as well ifyou have questions about your medicine. Go online and do your own research for additional information if you are having doubts.

The author is looking for an actos attorney who is well-informed on bladder cancer causes.

Common Questions About #BladderCancer Symptoms

Blood in the urine can be obvious red blood or more frequently the urine may appear darker in color, ranging from a slightly rusty color to dark reddish amber resembling tea.

What physician should I see if I am having bladder cancer symptoms?

Depending on how comfortable you are with your family doctor, you can see your them or a urologist (a doctor who specializes in diseases of the urinary tract, including bladder cancer symptoms.

How are bladder cancer symptoms diagnosed?

Generally a physician will check your overall healthiness and one or more of the following procedures:
• An in depth physical exam that includes checking the abdomen and pelvis for bladder tumors or other abnormalities. The doctor may also check for bladder tumors via a vaginal and or rectal examination.
• Generally your doctor will collect a urine sample for urinalysis. The urinalysis will show blood cells (red and/or white), cancer cells, and other signs of disease such as chemical abnormalities that can be present with bladder cancer symptoms.
• A common x-ray utilized to show images of the bladder is the intravenous pyelogram (IVP). Dye is injected into a vein and followed as it collects in the urine and travels through the urinary tract and into the bladder. When the dyed urine reaches the bladder, it will make the bladder show up on x-ray. Bladder tumors will be exposed as well.
• An urologist may perform a minor outpatient surgery called a cystoscopy. A small tube with a light at the tip (cystoscope) is inserted into the bladder by way of the urethra (urinary opening). The doctor is then able to view the bladder from the other end of the tube. A doctor can see any abnormalities such as a bladder tumor. Cystoscopy is also used to stage bladder tumors by collecting a tissue sample and examining it under a microscope (this is called a biopsy). With the use of micro-instruments, small tumors can sometimes be removed allowing diagnosis and treatment at the same time.

How do you tell how severe a bladder tumor is?

Once your doctor had performed the tests necessary to diagnose bladder cancer symptoms as cancerous, they will need to determine how severe your cancer is. The only positive way to confirm bladder cancer symptoms are cancer is with a biopsy. With other tests, a doctor may be reasonably sure, but not positive. One component of a biopsy is the staging (extensiveness) of a bladder tumor. There are five stages of bladder cancer symptoms:
• Stage Zero: The least extensive stage - The cancer cells are only in the surface of the inner lining of the bladder.
• Stage One - Cancer cells are found in the deep inner lining of the bladder but have not invaded the bladder muscle.
• Stage Two - Cancer cells have spread to the bladder muscle.
• Stage Three - Cancer cells have spread to through the bladder muscle to the surrounding tissue. This may include the prostate (in men) and uterus or vagina (in women).
• Stage Four - Cancer cells have spread and invaded the abdomen or pelvic walls. Cancer cells may now be present in the lymph nodes, lungsFree Web Content, and other surrounding organs. This is the most extensive stage.

How are bladder cancer symptoms treated?

Depending on the extent and type of bladder cancer you have will determine what treatment options are available to you. Early detection is the key to successful treatment. Consult your doctor immediately for bladder cancer symptoms if you have them.

MAGI: Excellent App That Allows #Scientists to Study #CancerGenetics

By Steve Xenakis

Today, the technology is improved so much that we have an app for almost everything like the apps for news, social networking, banking, entertainment and so on. Now the news is that, the scientists of Brown University have built an app called MAGI (Mutation Annotation and Genome Interpretation) using which the users can compare their results with several cancer genetic datasets.

Basically, 'MAGI' is an interactive and open source application which allows clinicians and researchers to investigate the traces of cancer. Using this tool, the users can search, visualise and also interpret public cancer genetic datasets including the data from TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) project. Along with TGCA data, the app also allows you to upload your own data and compare the results with those in the database.

Why 'MAGI' is developed?

According to Max Leiserson, the lead developer of MAGI, the app enables users to explore cancer genomics data using a regular web browser even if he/she doesn't have any computational expertise. He also says that computational burden on the doctors and researchers, has been the main reason for the development of such an amazing application.

Over the past ten years, lots of researchers working on TCGA had sequenced the genes from about thousands of tumours and cancer types to understand the mutations that contribute to the development of cancer. This effort behind the analysis motivated the scientists of Brown University which led to the development of MAGI.

How useful the app has been?

The app has really been useful for clinicians and laboratory researchers. Today, the gene sequencing has become faster and cheaper as well; the researchers have actually started sequencing the samples based on their own studies and sometimes with reference to just a few tumours. But now, they can upload the results to MAGI and they can make use of the huge public datasets to interpret their own data.

According to Ben Raphael, the Director of Brown University, mutations are diverse and they are spread all over the genome. So in cancer genomes, the real value lies in large sample sizes. He also explains that, if he had sequenced a few cancer genomes from a local tumour bank, the first thing he would do is to compare his data with the huge public datasets for similarities. The output generated by MAGI offers several ways to visualize the results. It also shows how often a gene is mutated across the samples and other information.

As already told above, today the gene sequencing has become faster so that the lab technicians and researchers can use the genomic data to diagnose and also to develop a course of treatment for variety of cancers. The lab is intended to make the app available freely so that those who are in cancer genomics community can make use of it.

Currently Mobile apps are playing vital role apart from games and entertainment apps, like news, health related apps help users to know more about health issues.

Canada Pharmacy Drug Fights #BladderCancer Risks

People with type 2 diabetes taking Actos (pioglitazone) to control blood sugar may put themselves at risk for bladder cancer, and to buy Zofran Canada may be prescribed by their doctors once the treatment for bladder cancer ends to prevent nausea and vomiting.

"We believe physicians, patients and regulatory agencies should be aware of this association when assessing the overall risks and benefits of this therapy," said lead researcher Laurent Azoulay, from the Center for Clinical Epidemiology at the Lady Davis Institute at Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.

"The association between the use of pioglitazone and bladder cancer is controversial, with several studies reporting conflicting results, from modest increased risks to no association," said Azoulay, who also is an assistant professor in the oncology department at McGill University in Montreal.

Dr. Spyros Mezitis, an endocrinologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said "we need to be more careful with the use of this medication."

The whole class of these drugs has come under fire, he said. "If there are more studies like this, we will not be using this medication," he added.

Mezitis said he starts new type 2 diabetes patients on other drugs such as metformin to control blood sugar, rather than Actos. Because it's a generic drug, metformin also is less expensive than Actos.

Mezitis also thinks more patients with type 2 diabetes will get insulin earlier instead of using drugs like Actos. "We have to tailor treatment to each patient, and there are other ways of controlling blood sugar," he said.

Another expert, Dr. Joel Zonszein, a professor of clinical medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an endocrinologist at the Clinical Diabetes Center at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, said he thinks the study is weak, and the risk of bladder cancer is small.

"There is an important role for these medications," he said. "I am probably one of the last doctors who is still supporting the use of these medications." Generic Zofran cheap will surely aid patients undergoing bladder cancer treatments and medications.

Zonszein said he starts patients on Actos in combination with other drugs such as metformin to aggressively lower blood sugar. Patients, however, need to know the risks, he said.

Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same resultsPsychology Articles, only without the dioxin.

3 Major Types of #Cancer Explained

By Thomas Parker

Cancer is a disease that can affect any of the body's cells. It starts to develop when the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in your body's cells becomes disrupted or damaged. DNA contains specific instructions that tell your cells when to divide and multiply which allows them to grow in a controlled manner. If the DNA becomes disrupted then these instructions become distorted your cells start to grow in a rapid and uncontrollable way. This uncontrolled growth causes a lump to form which is referred to as a tumor. This tumor can ultimately become cancerous and start to affect other areas of the body. In this article I will be discussing three of the major types of cancer in greater detail.

1) CARCINOMAS:- Carcinomas are the most prominent type of cancer accounting for around 85% of all diagnoses. They develop in the epithelial cells that line the body and its organs. Carcinomas can be further grouped into four sub-types; squamous cell carcinomas (which affect the lining of the mouth and the airways), adenocarcinomas (which affect the lining of the glands), transitional cell carcinoma (which affects the lining of the bladder) and basal cell carcinomas (which affect the skin).

2) LEUKAEMIAS & LYMPHOMAS:- These types of cancer represent around 7% of cancer cases. They are grouped together because they both develop in the cells of the immune system. Leukaemias develop in the cells of the myeloid system which protects your body from bacteria and parasites. Lymphomas develop in the lymphatic system which help your body fight infection.

3) SARCOMAS:- Sarcomas are one of the rarest types of cancer accounting for less than 1% of all diagnoses. They develop in the connective tissues of the body and can be further divided into three main sub-types; bone carcinomas (which affect the bones), gastro-intestinal stromal tumours (which affect the stomach and the intestine) and soft tissue sarcomas (which affect soft connective tissues such as muscle and fat).

Cancer is a horrible disease which very often turns out to be fatal. Unfortunately, many people know very little about this condition and how it develops. I hope this article has helped you learn a little more about this disease and shed some light on the various types of cancer and the cells they affect.

Whilst every intention has been made to make this article accurate and informative, it is intended for general information only. Cancer is a very serious, life threatening condition and you should discuss any concerns, treatments or lifestyle changes fully with your doctor.

Tom Parker owns and operates a number of useful fitness resources and websites. You can learn more about the different types of cancer and get a free fitness tip delivered to your email inbox every day for a full year by visiting his websites.
